All international travellers willing to apply to the travel authorization (ESTA) and enter the United States under Visa Waiver Program shall apply for the travel authorization.Who is eligible to submit an application:
- You are a citizen of the Visa Waiver Program participant country allowed to apply.
- Currently you do not hold a visitor's visa.
- Intend to enter the United States for 90 days or less.
- Intend to enter the United States for business or pleasure.
- Intend to apply for a new travel authorization for one or several individuals.

- A valid passport lawfully issued to you by a Visa Waiver Program country
- Valid credit cards MasterCard or VISA.
- Your contact information.
- Current information about your employment, if applicable.

To apply for an ESTA, you must complete an Individual Application under "START ESTA APPLICATION" in the global menu. In your application, enter all required information labelled with a red asterisk. After entry of the data, accept the terms and select "NEXT". After an approval you can review the submitted information for accuracy. To make any corrections, you can select "EDIT" in the corresponding application section and make updates, if the information is correct, approve the terms and click "CONFIRM AND CONTINUE". After submission of the application make the payment by entering your credit card data in the required fields and click "COMPLETE THE PAYMENT". If the payment is successful, and approval will appear on the screen. After a successful payment you will receive an answer to your e-mail within 24 hours.

Each citizen of Visa Waiver Program participant countries travelling to the United States for business or tourism have to receive an electronic travel authorization in the ESTA system prior to departure. Children also, regardless their age, have to receive a separate ESTA approval.

It is recommended to receive an ESTA approval not later than 72 hours prior to departure to the United States. Usually ESTA applications are processed within 24 hours, but it must be taken into account that the final response term is 72 hours. If the application is submitted shortly before departure, then it may come to a situation when it is not processed in a due time and the individual may not depart. It has to be considered that in separate situations an application may also be denied. In such a case an individual, prior to travelling to the United States, must apply for a visa at the U.S. Embassy.
